WHY IRAN

You would think at this day and age with all of the selection and non-mainstream news available these days more people in the US should have a more knowledgeable idea of the facts which exist  in Iran.  But when you see some of the poles that are given to the people like one I heard that 70% of people in the US believe Iran already possess a nuclear weapon.  With a poll of that number it really makes you wonder if people watch anything other than Fox News.
Its polls like those that show you how we are on the brink of another war catastrophe which would only bring death and misery to millions of innocent people.  When the majority of citizens believe a blatant lie that could be overcome by five minutes of investigating of what the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) of 2007 in which the Director of National Intelligence James Clapper had stood firmly on this key point, despite severe pressure to make Iran look scary and evil stated,
"We judge with high confidence that in the fall of 2003, Tehran halted its nuclear weapons program, Tehran's decision to halt its nuclear weapons program suggest it is less determined to develop nuclear weapons than we have been judging since 2005."
So how does this public important information get filtered past the majority of the U.S. population?  The NIE is the report from 16 U.S. intelligence agencies saying that Iran has stopped trying to build nuclear weapons.  Shouldn't this important information be plastered all over the major newspapers and be televised by all the mainstream news organizations?  We are talking about the news which could stop  going to war and killing millions of people here.  And not to mention the possibility of an Iran war flaring into very easily, with Russia being an ally of Iran, into WW3.  Who in their right mind would not supply the information that may have global extinction  by a world nuclear war?  When a person does the investigating into a war scenario with Iran this is what they would find out.
It was not to long ago when shortly after 911 we were told by our government leaders and mainstream press that it was of most importance that the U.S. needed to go to war with Iraq because they had stock piles of weapons of mass destruction.  We know now that was a made up lie to get us into a war.   I ask why should we have any faith that all of a sudden our government would not lie or use our news organizations to lie us into another war?  Well all you have to do is take a look at a war prior to Iraq, the Vietnam war.  Its public knowledge that the Gulf of Tonkin incident where the Vietnamese we were told fired upon one of the U.S. battleships, did not happen and was a lie to get us into a war.  So if you go by the history of our government not telling the truth when it comes to going to war what would make a war with Iran any different.
There should not be one person that is above 18 think Iran already has nuclear bombs.  This knowledge being pretty important should by now have reached every household especially when we supposedly may go to war with them.  If we were told the truth we would know that Iran has not started or presumptively attack  a neighbor in over 300 years.  We should understand that Iran has signed the Non Proliferation Treaty  which gives them permission to build nuclear power plants and, has open access for the IAEA inspectors.  People should also know that the United States along with the United Kingdom already have overthrown their government once in a coup d'etat of democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh in Aug. of 1953 and was replaced by an authoritarian Shah.  As long as the government of Iran is not controlled by a puppet friendly of the U.S. and will not let its oil be heisted by pro American corporations the U.S. and allies will stop at nothing until  regime change is made in Iran.
